ICI withdraws
ICI New Zealand has withdrawn from a joint venture project to extract agar from seaweed. In a statement, the joint venture partners, ICI New Zealand, Ltd, and Excalibur Colloids, Ltd, said that ICI did not at this time see this investment fitting with its strategic direction. Excalibur which has a technology licence from the DSIR, will continue to pursue the development of the project.
