Bull breaks cliche

PA Palmerston North The Colonel, a 1100 kg Hereford bull, wandered into a Palmerston North china shop yesterday, stayed three hours then left without causing a cent’s damage. . The stunt was the brainchild of the shop owner, Mr Grant Burnett, who said it was something he had always wanted to do. The bull was led in by the owner, Mr Bill Bly, a Woodville farmer, to flashing cameras of a big news media contingent, which included television cameras representing Britain’s ITV and the “Guinness Book of Records” programme. But little occurred over the next three hours apart from a few close shaves as the bull was turned to pose for pictures and several calls of nature on to straw and canvas laid for the occasion. After about two hours, the bull lay down for a 10minute rest.
