Look at roads policy
The Local Government Association will investigate the implications for rural authorities of the National Roads Board’s policy on not funding “uneconomic” country roads. Once that investigation is made it will make submissions to the board. The board’s policy was made clear to delegates at the Local Government Association conference in Christchurch this week. The Government would not meet maintenance on uneconomic roads. The costs for these roads would fall Zo local authorities and® landowners.
