WATER POLO Linwood High School entertained with a close final in the mixed grade of the South Island secondary schools water polo held at the Queen Elizabeth II pool last weekend.

Linwood met Burnside High School in the final game, both teams having been unbeaten. Burnside r started the scoring, followed by Linwood. With only five seconds remaining of the match, and the score at 2 all, Charlotte Wormaid scored again for Linwood to win the match.

Linwood also won the girls’ section, while Otago Boys’ High School won the boys’ section after beating Christchurch Boys’ High School 7-4 in the final. Results.-
