Young Bros celebrate seventy years
Young Brothers mark their seventieth year in the automotive spare parts business with the opening of a new branch in Blenheim Road today. This is the third new branch which Young Brothers has opened since April this year, moving into Nelson and Hamilton as well. Such progress is no mean feat in the present economic climate, and the Young Brothers management are proud of the fact that while many businesses are laying off staff they are employing more. They believe that their success is due, at least in part, to the experience of their staff. Many have
been with Young Brothers for over 30 years, and have come to know their trade and their customers backwards. Another factor contributing to their stability is their shareholding. After 70 years, Young Brothers is still a private company with only 19 shareholders — the Young family and the members of the company’s staff. Although the Blenheim Road building is the latest step in Young Brothers’ programme of expansion, it is not the last. The company intends to continue its progress and enlarge its share of the New Zealand automotive spare parts market.
