Commission bows out
PA Wellington The Commerce Commission yesterday bowed out of the first major skirmish in the deregulated oil industry — and said it was shutting down a preliminary probe of
the supply agreements being offered to service station owners by oil wholesalers.
The commission chairman, Mr John Collinge,_ said the commission had investigated alleged re-
fusals to supply retailers, exclusive or “solus” dealing on petrol and diesel and line forcing in relation to lubricants, i.e. preventing retailers from stocking lubricants made by other manufacturers.
