Evernden faces Edberg

NZPA-Reuter Manchester The New Zealander, Kelly Evernden, progressed to the semi-finals of the Manchester grass court tennis tournament yesterday with a hardfought 7-6, 6-4 win over Johan Kriek (U.S.).

The Swede Stefan Edberg, ranked No. 2 in the world, followed Evernden into the semi-finals here by beating the unseeded South African, Neil Broad, 7-6, 6-3.
