Accuser 'confused’
PA Wellington An epileptic woman who said Greytown commune leader Amrit Lal Narain put her in a pit and locked her under a house was confused, Narain said yesterday.
He was giving evidence on the fifth day of his trial in the High Court in Wellington on eight charges of kidnapping. Narain, aged 53, has pleaded not guilty. The charges relate to three people: Mrs
Roseanne Sich, Miss Nell Armitt and Mr David Timu. All three lived at Narain’s Greytown commune. Mr Timu did not give evidence at the trial, which is before Mr Justice Heron and a jury.
