Edwards in squad
Logan Edwards, the highly promising Manst-Western Suburbs rugby league loose forward, has been added to the Canterbury squad to prepare for the match with, Auckland at the Addington Show Grounds on Sunday. The 15 players who travelled to Wellington, where Canterbury was beaten, 17-10, last Saturday evening, have been retained. . “Edwards has been chosen mainly to cover injuries and will be permitted to play club football on Saturday,” said the Canterbury coach, Ray Haffenden, yesterday. There is doubt whether Gary Leek, who left the field twice during the week-end, will be fit to oppose Auckland, and also a risk of other injuries occurring in club football on Wednesday evening. • Inside sport: Pages 21-26, 29
