Thailand through
NZPA-Reuter Zhong Shan, China The giant-killer Thailand obtained a place in the Dunhill Cup golf final to be held at the St Andrews course in Scotland when it defeated New Zealand and South 1 Korea at the week-end. The New Zealand team members — Simon Owen, Frank Nobilo and Greg Turner — wasted little time leaving the Zhong Shan Golf Club, scene of their humiliation. They hovercrafted across the Pearl River Delta to Kai Tak Airport and immediately flew out — Nobilo and Turner to another European circuit and Owen to New Zealand. It was the first time in the four-year history of the tournament that New Zealand had not made it through to the final.
