Rangiora inquiries
Two trainers were each fined $lOO for indiscretions at the Rangiora Trotting club’s on-course meeting at Rangiora on Saturday. T. Neale, the trainer of Ocean Blue, was fined for the late scratching of this horse in the Silk Legacy Pace. D. Corrigan, the trainer of Digital Disc in the same event, was fined for an unauthorised change of gear. Michael de Filippi was warned after allegedly using his arm as a bar while driving Amorosa, with 250 m left to run, in the Shepherds Whisky Pace. The complaint was dismissed. Gold Row, which broke free of interference with 1000 m left in the Dominion Breweries Pace, was stood down until he trials to the satisfaction of the stipendiary stewards on four occasions. Pacers to be stood down until they trial twice before the stewards were: Derby Boy, Robyn Maree, Gasthof, Flying Jack, Friendly Fred, Black Zephyr and Mighty Adios. My Papa and Lord Venture were stood down from standing starts, only until they trial twice, for breaking at the start of their respective events.
