Decree Nisi has success at trials
The Tom Lalor-trained gelding, Decree Nisi, scored an all-the-way win in the 1200 m all classes event at the Riccarton Turf Club’s trials at Rangiora yesterday. In the hands of Lorna Cook, Decree Nisi recorded a respectable time of 1:12.0, beating Black Arrow by one and a half lengths. Hot Century’was third. Decree Nisi’s stablemate, Robinski, finished a useful second to Rakau
Tender in the all classes event over 1600 m, the winter posting a time of 1:40.0. Other winners were Wayward Lad (inexperienced horses, 400 m), Pincer (maidens, 800 m), Kyjana (maidens, 800 m), Travelling Man (maidens, 800 m), and Paddy’s Power (all classes, 800 m). Maiden qualifiers over 1200 m were Galaxy Crown, Pieces of Silver, Swept By and Rice the Light. Fergus qualified over 1600 m.
