Noel Eales, in the Bell Block Building Supplies Handicap, first leg of the T.A.B. double at the Waverley Racing Club’s meeting yesterday. Settled at the rear by Maurice Campbell, Golden Sealord swept around! the field at the 800 metres to join the leaders, Crestway and Sweet Echo. The 1 run home developed into a battle between the stablemates, with Golden Sealord just lasting to [win by a nose.

Soubrette flashed home for third after racing near the back of the field.
The apprentice, Brian Fletcher, with a 4[/ 2 kg. allowance, snatched a last-stride victory aboard Rythmic Dancer in the Wanganui Motors Handicap, second leg of the double.
Handily placed throughout the 12-metre sprint. Rythmic Dancer forged to the front at . the 200 m, with the favourite, Sound Belt, right on her heels. In a tight finish the Rotorua visitor held on to win by a nose, with Amorous battling on for third.. I’m Syd, after leading most of the way, held on well for fourth.
