The bill was given its second reading and passed through its committee stage. The House then began debating the bill's third reading. The bill passed Its third reading without division. The Speaker, Mr Burke, ruled on a point' of order arising from a: meeting earlier yesterday of the Planning and Development Select Committee.
The committee’s chairman, Mr Ken Shirley (Lab., Tasman), reported back on the
Ministry of Works and (Development Abolition Bill. ) The report was accepted on a 42-31 division, and thejbill; was set down for its second reading. pie House then moved into committee to consider the St4te Sector Bill. The debate was interrupted when the House adjourned for lunch at 1.00 p.m. j [‘ jThe debate continued when the House resumed at 2 p.m. ; A motion put by the leader! of] the House, Mr Hunt; for) the committee to consider the. bib part by part and for the scheule to stand as a part, was passed by! 40 votes to; 30.
