Fiji recruits Chinese doctors
NZPA-AAP I Suva 1 Fiji is recruiting doctors ' from China to help ease [ the shortage I caused by j emigration after last | year’s two military coups. [The first 10 Englishspeaking doctors will arrive in mid-April after an i agreement signed by the ■ Fiji Public Service Commission and the China Zhejiang Corporation for ' international economic and technical co-opera-tion. . Seven ■ ■ consultant specialists and three "medical officers" will be employed by the Health Ministry on local terms and conditions of service, similar to doctors recruited from the Philippines last year. ri- | ■Fiji has been suffering a {loss of professional men tq New Zealand and Australia since the military coups.
