Picket lines

Sir,; —In recent interviews l|! have heard Colin Hicks accuse! the! Government of intimidation in relation to the State Sector) Bill. I would suggest! that Mr'. Hicks clean up his-own backyard) before he starts making accusa-' tions. I refer to the ' picket lines i that are part and parcel of union protests these days. These picket lines, in my opinion are the most blatant form of intimidation imaginable. Not only does Mrh Hicks and, his union colleagues condone them, but I believe! actively support and advocate: them. How can a democracy! survive when honest caring [ members of our comihunity are! forcibly prevented from attending to the occupation of their i choice? Protest is acceptable, but! physical intimidation [is not. —■! Yours, etc., F. G. BURROWES. | i March 18, 1988. |
