Harojd King, aged 39, a storeman, of; Glen Innes, admitted a charge of wilfully getting fire to a Mount Roskill building on February 21. Judgs Cadenhead convicted King and j re-
manded him for High Court sentence on March 23. Senior-Sergeant. John Storck told the court King met the woman three years ago and they planned to marry. In January this year, the couple parted, but King constantly tried to contact the woman and gain her attention. On February 20 the
woman took out a nonmolestation order. As a final ( attempt to gain her attention, King set fire to her house about 3.30 a.m. the [next day. On February 25 the police searched King’s house and found a towel which belonged to the woman. He told police he had committed the arson because he was desperate for the woman’s attention.
