Volcanic study
PA Tauranga Soviet and New Zealand scientists are surveying volcanic activity in the Bay of Plenty this month from a Soviet research ship. The Vulkanolog will work in the bay, based at the Port of Tauranga, until the end of this month. The Vulkanolog arrived in port recently to exchange D.S.I.R. scientists for a five-day voyage. She is scheduled to return to Tauranga for an overnight stay.
