Dead trio named
PA I Gisborne East Cape Civil Defence authorities yesferday gave the names ofj the three persons drowned when the car in they were travelling was away near Tolago Bay on Monday evening. They were | ; Ruth Maurlrere, aged 90; Te Whareti Nancy Carrol, in her late 70s; and her husband
Harry also in his late 70s. They were all from Mangatuna marae, north of Tolaga Bay. It is beleived that the driver of the car, Mr Bob Bartlett, had gone to pick the three up and bring them to the safety of his Tolaga Bay home when the car was caught, in floodwaters.
