Schools to close
Primary schoolteachers in the Sydenham and Marlborough electorates will be on strike today in protest against the State Sector Bill. Schools in the Sydenham electorate affected are Addington, Addington Catholic, Beckenham, Christchurch South Intermediate, Edward Seager, Hoon Hay, Manning Intermediate, Our Lady of the Assumption, Rowley, Somerfleld, Spreydon, St Peter’s, Sydenham, Waltham and West Spreydon. Schools in the Marlborough electorate affected by the strike include Canvastown, French Pass, Rai Valley area and Woodbank.
