tions from October 1. He said the change designed to exempt such donations was announced in the December 17 economic statement which said that “the GST Act will be amended to explicitly exempt the supply by non-profit organisations of goods and services which are funded by donations.” However, Mr de Cleene said that the council would not received refunds for GST charged on donations up to October 1. “GST is being correctly charged under the law as it stands at the moment”
