Marton double likely for O’Sullivan

Special correspondent' Wellington I The leading rider, Lance O’Sullivan, Stands an excellent chance of riding the T.A.B. double winners at the Marton jockey Club’s meeting at Awapuni this afternoon. ! O’Sullivan has been booked for Apello in the SBOOO Criterion Hotel Handicap '(2200m) and Nuclear Ann in the SSOOO Castlecliff Hotel Handicap (1600 m at the restricted meeting today. The weather may be unsettled in much of the country, but yesterday it was blowing at Palmerston North and the track was firm. Apello, a gelding by Amyntor, is trained by Merv Andrews on the course, and last time out he was third to his stablemate. Rainbow Reason, at Napier Park. Apello has not raced at 2200 metres, but he was running on at the end of 2100 metres at his last start. Rainbow Reason is in again and will Jetbet: 7 Race 1 12.40 PAEKAKARIKI HOTEL HIGHWEIGHT $5000; 1600 m. 1 1251 Cre»t Way 12 T. O'Donnell 64.5 2 6158 Real Double 10 N. Wiki 63.5 3 7263 Incredible 8 . . be a strong chance if he runs, while Sundi Kiss, Student Prince, Tempted and an improving Jo Mellay have to be respected. The top weight, Lanursa, is a recent winner which has won at his only run on the course. He was fourth last time out at Te Rapa last month, and could be a threat. | Nuclear Ann has not raced since the second day of the Wellington Cup meeting. On that occasion she was not well served in the running and her late finish brought a close second behind Bashful Lady. Today her opponents include a couple of handy fillies. One, Logistical, from Woodville, was well backed, but missed out in the Oaks on Wellington Cup Day at Trentham, while the other, Device, ran a big race for fourth at the recent Rangitikei meeting at Awapuni. Wings Of Apollo, Cotton Club and Zariba may be the best of the others. 12 13 Rirni 24 K. Clapperton 54.0 13 2706 Special Tribute 17 D. Walsh 54.0 14 0547 Too Keen 10 T.
