Waiau wins
One of the northern most entries, a team from the Waiau club, won the Farmers' annual fours bowling tournament for the Lew Jenkins Ploughshare. Waiau beat a Rangiora side in the final at the Burnside club's greens. The winning Waiau four was S. Pettigrew (skip), I. Pettigrew; R. Henderson and R. GriggJ The skips of the second and third teams were A. Ravenswood (Rangiora) and F. Amyes (Ashburton) respectively.
