Jet hired for horse
NZPA-AAP Melbourne
The Victoria Racing Club has hired an Ansett 727 to fly the champion New Zealand gelding, Bonecrusher, to Melbourne tomorrow after yesterday’s gale-force winds stranded him at Auckland Airport.
Bonecrusher is set to race against the sensational Queensland front runner, Vo Rogue, in next Monday’s sAustsoo,ooo Bicentenary Australian Cup (2000 m at Flemington. The turbo-charged chestnut had to remain in Auckland after flights in and out of the city were cancelled because of gale-force winds associated with Cyclone Bola.
