Soccer team unwanted
PA I Sydney | The New Zealand soccer team found itself in an Unwanted competition against Melbourne athletes when if trained yesterday at Olympic Park, the venue of its Jlympic qualifying match tomorrow against Chinaaipei. ‘ ; ! ! The New Zealand coach, Kevin Fallon, had planned have a private training session at the ground, but was apparently upset to find a track;and!field meeting going on when the All Whites arrived there. Mr Fallon could pot be contacted for comment, but the assistant coach, Eddie Edge, said it was a “chaotic scene” at the park. “We were trying to do things! over the top of loudspeakers, race guns and all sobs,” he said. It is understood the New Zealand Football Association may be lodging a protest about the incident. But a spokesman for Olympic Park Management said it had ’jlong ago” told the Victorian Football Association about the athletics meeting being on.
