Rotary collecting aluminium cans
The Lincoln Rotary Club has set up a collection at Hornby Mall for used aluminium cans. Each Saturday, two people staff the stand and receive a steady stream of customers, each with about 4kg of cans. Recently, the two attendants were due to close the stand about 12 noon, when a woman pulled up and said that she had
some cans) To their surprise, she then opened the back of her horse float, which was half full of cans. After an hour of unloading and weighing the cans, the driver left with a sizeable cheque for (the funds. ) The Rotary club began the collection centre) to raise funds for community schemes.
