Dairy farmer refused additional compensation
PA Wellington A Huntly dairy farmer injured when his cows jammed him against a fence was refused additional compensation in a hearing of the Accident Compensation Appeal Authority in Hamilton. Mr Malcolm Downing received $6OOO from the A.C.C. after] injuring his back in 1983. Since then
pain had persisted and he had not been able to earn extra money shearing as he had done so before the injury. But Judge Middleton said that until Mr Downing underwent an orthopaedic examination or produced his annual accounts to show his loss of earnings the amount of compensation could not be increased.
