New director of National Art Gallery

two (institutions and (preparing for their transition do ‘the new Museum of fJe(w( Zealand complex planned for the Wellington waterfront. ! Dr Volkerling has (been director of the Arts Council since 1977. !

The Arts Council funding ( and service .'programmes have also! expanded considerably (and its policies have been reshaped.
