Apprentices fined
PA ( Hastings The apprentices, Michael Coleman and Ross Elliot, were both fined for careless riding at Wednesday’s Napier Park meeting. Coleman, j the rider of Lady Run Run in the Tropicana i Fibre Glass Maiden was found to have caused ( severe interference to First Joy (Morgan Barrie) with about 500 metres) to run in the 2000 m Irace. He was fined $3OO. '
Elliot, the rider of Antrim Heights in the Thomson's Suits Maiden, was found 1 guilty of moving inwards when insufficiently clear 300 metres after the start of the 2000metre (race.
His ; horse’s inward movement caused crowding Ito Crafty Can (Michael Coleman), which in turn ran in on to Indian Swift (Mark Heaney) and caused this horse to hit the running rail. Elliot was fined $lOO.
