Materialism

Sir, —When are the people of New Zealand going to realise that it is j their greed that is causing so much trouble for so many? It may be the time to quote a little poem written in the 1930 s slump that ended with the words: "What .matter that I wear last summer’s dress? We have each other.” If people thought a little more about “we have each other” than the desire for more money and material things, the world would be a much happier place. —- Yours etc.,

M. WRIGHT. March 2, 1988.
