Overtime deadline set
Overtime for Christchurch Drainage Board staff will be stopped from April 1. The Drainage Board introduced in June controversial 50 per cent cuts in overtime in an attempt to reduce costs.
In January figures indi-
cated that the $32,000 of overtime budgeted for was going to be exceeded.
Staff then received letters to say there would be no overtime allowed in the month of March. That decision has since been changed, and 50 per
cent overtime will be allowed during March, even though it means there will be an over-expenditure of $26,000 for this financial year.
After March 31, however, no overtime at all will be allowed except for emergency work.
