Coach retained
Ewen Holstein, who guided the Canterbury A hockey team to success in the national men’s championship in Whangarei last September, has been retained as coach for the 1988 season.
The Canterbury Hockey Association made the appointment this week. Dave Stuthridge, a long serving Canterbury A goalkeeper who retired last year, will continue his affiliation with the team. He has been appointed manager.
Tony Hayde, the coach of Canterbury B last year, has also been retained for 1988 along with the manager, Alan Paterson. Bryan Read has been appointed coach of the Canterbury colts’ A team for the national tournament in Palmerston North in May.
