WAIREWA COUNTY COUNCIL FENCING OF SWIMMING POOLS ACT 1987 NOTICE TO SWIMMING POOL OWNERS POOL owners should note that this Act is now in force and that they have a legal obligation to observe the Act, in particular: — AU new pools constructed on or after September 1, 1987, must be fenced to the requirements of the Act. — All pools constructed before September 1, 1987, must be fenced by May 1, 1988, unless they are exempt in terms of the Act. All pool owners and occupiers of property should advise the Council of the existence of swimming pools. Persons proposing to instali a new pool are requested to notify the Council of their intention to do so giving location and legal description of the property. A suitable form is available from the County Office, Little River.
