Matamata birth
A rare South American tortoise has been born in Hamburg zoo, the first of its species — the matamata — ever born in captivity, a spokeswoman for the Hagenbeck zoo said. The tortoise is seven centimeters long and weighed eleven grams. Its mother, who weighsB.skg, has been with the zoo for almost 30 years.—Hamburg.
