Michael Powell: Melvyn Bragg presents a profile of Michael Powell, one of British’s most original filmmakers. Powell, now aged 82, has just published his autobiography “A Life in Movies” — and this week’s South Bank Show highlights the major movies in his entertaining and brilliant film career, which he began as an actor in silent films. There are excerpts from acclaimed films he made with Emeric Pressburger, including "A Matter of Life and Death,” "The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp,” “Black Narcissus” and “The Red Shoes.” Powell reflects on his work and discusses his most controversial film, “Peeping Tom.” 11.15 SUMMER MOVIE.
