Summer Times
The finale of the Summer Times programme this evening, the Classical Sparks show, is expected to attract up to 20,000 people. The show will be held at North Hagley Park from about 8.30 p.m. and includes the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, and the Lucifer Fireworks and Searchlight Company in an explosion of music and fireworks. Music will include Tchaikovsky’s “1812 Overture,” the Beatles, Dvorak, and Wagner. The Summer Times coordinator, Mr Lex Matheson, said a decision would be made this morning about the show, which hinged on the weather.
