Indecent assaults
A young woman, aged 16, was punched and indecently assaulted during an attack near Hagley Park yesterday afternoon. The attack was one of two cases of indecent assault reported to the Christchurch police yesterday. In the first incident, the 16-year-old was punched and indecently assaulted at Millbrook Reserve at 4.10 p.m. She managed to fight her assailant off and escape. Her attacker is described as being aged between 35 and 40, of solid build, with fair complexion and short, brown hair. In the second assault, a woman, aged 20, was walking along Clare Road, St Albans, when she was approached from behind by an attacker and indecently assaulted. The man is described as European, aged between 28 and 29, of slight build and with collarlength dark-brown hair. He was wearing blue-grey track suit pants and a light-blue T-shirt with lettering on it.
