Body of boy ends family’s vigil
PA Hamilton The eight-day vigil of a Putaruru family for their missing son, aged 10, has ended with the discovery of his body. Since February 1, Mrs Rachael Cure and her husband, Mr Richard Cure, have camped by the Waihou River at Okoroire where Jeremy Cure was swept from a tyre tube into rapids. The Putaruru police said relatives found the boy’s body about 10.30 p.m. on Monday after it floating to the surface of a pool just below the rapids where he went missing.
