Auckland council plans
PA Auckland The Auckland City Council said it would spend its share of the airport reserve fund on community projects, 1990 Commonweath Games venues and improving the Town Hall. But in carving up the $17.2 million, the council has emphasised that it would not be used to finance the Aotea Centre. The money was Auckland City’s share of profits from airport operations Of the $17.2 million, $2.5 million would go for Games venues, $5 million into a loan account for community projects and the remaining $9.7 million would pay for restoring the Town Hall.
