MR G.S. (GRAEME) HAWKINS has also accepted an invitation to join the Board of Magnum Corporation. Mr Hawkins (40), joined Dominion Breweries Limited in 1982 as General Manager - Finance and Planning, and was appointed Chief Executive of that company in December 1986 shortly before DB joined the Magnum group. (ALISTAIR) SUTHERLAND (36), peviously General Manager Southern Region for Magnum’s subsidiary Dominion Breweries Limited, has been appointed to the new position of Chief Executive - Beverages. Based in Magnum’s Auckland head office, Mr Sutherland, who holds B.A. and LL B degrees from Otago University, will report to Mr Jim Veitch. The beverages division of the recently expanded Magnum group includes the operations of Gorbans Wines Limited, Pepsi-Cola Bottlers New Zealand Limited, national liquor importer and distributor Allied Liquor Merchants Limited (incorporating Quill Humphreys Limited), and the Pinto Fruit Juice Company.

MR J.A. (JIM) VEITCH has accepted an invitation to join the Board of Magnum Corporation Limited. As Executive Director - Trading, Mr Veitch's executive role has been expanded to encompass direct responsibility for all trading operations of ’the Magnum group excluding Dominion Breweries Limited and Progressive Enterprises Limited. He continues to report to the Group Managing Director, Mr Bob Matthew. Aged 37, Mr Veitch joined the South Island grocery distribution company J. Rattray & Son Limited in Dunedin in 1973. Holding a B. Comm, degree from Otago University, Mr Veitch has had extensive senior management experience in the operation and expansion of Magnum’s grocery and liquor retail and wholesale divisions.
