Quinton to ride in Ireland
NZPA-Reuter Newbridge (Ireland) The top Australian jockey, Ron Quinton, is to be the No. 1 rider next season for Irish trainer, John Oxx, who enjoyed his best ever year in 1987. Oxx, who last year used Cash Asmussen when the American was not needed
by Vincent O’Brien, said Quinton should be joining him in time for the start of the Irish flat season at The Curragh on April 9. Quinton, aged 39, twice champion in Sydney, has ridden almost 2000 winners in his career.
