Driver sought
The police are seeking information on a Holden car after a hit and run accident in the Lewis Pass on Thursday. Peter Lafferty, of Christchurch, suffered shoulder and suspected back injuries when his motor-cycle was clipped by an overtaking car. Mr Lafferty was riding his motor-cycle alongside another when the accident occurred near the
Boyle River at 6.30 p.m. Constable Peter Gilfedder, of Hanmer Springs, said the fawn or brown Holden pulled out to overtake the motor-cycles but clipped Mr Lafferty, who lost control and collided with the second motorcyclist. The police would like any information on the car, which should have some damage to its lefthand side.
