Animal scientists to meet
Early lambing, animal health and fish farming will be major topics at the annual conference of the New Zealand Society of Animal Production at Lincoln College early next month. A . sheep reproduction expert from Australia, Professor Roger Short, will talk about techniques to change the lambing season, while a keynote address in the animal health session will be given by Professor Roger Morris, of Massey University. He will discuss the effects of disease on productivity and profitability. The conference will include a field trip to a fish farm and sessions on lamb meat production, biotechnology of growth, and grazing management. The conference will run from February 9 to 12.
