Barley pool payout
The malting barley payout to growers in the Cereal Exports, Ltd, export pool for the 1987 harvest was $152,883 a tonne (delivered port). The feed barley payout was $105,314. A spokesman for Cereal Exports described the
pool results as good considering the depressed state of the world market for barley last year. World malting barley prices have increased SUSIS to SUS2O a tonne during the last year, but this increase has been offset by the high value of the New Zealand dollar.
