‘Warts and all’ video publicity

PA Wellington A “warts and all” video on managing change in the public service is being prepared by the State Services Commission and will be shown to every public servant in the country. The $90,000 video is a key element of a publicity campaign costing almost $250,000 — the commission’s biggest single publicity effort so far, its communications manager, Mr Roger Anderson, said. The campaign is in response to changes associated with the creation of the State corporations

early last year, he said. The personal experiences of some of the people affected by those big changes would be detailed on the video. “It’s not all sweetness and light,” he said. The 30-minute video is being put together by the National Film Unit and a private company, Spectrum Communications. The commission is also preparing a 32-page fullcolour magazine, called “Service,” for distribution to all public servants on a two-monthly basis. The first issue is due late next month.
