Exhibition impresses Chinese
NZPA Hong Kong Chinese citizens have been impressed by a photographic exhibition on New Zealand displayed in Peking, Guiyang and Wuxi, according to the New Zealand Ambassador to China, Mr Lindsay Watt. Mr Watt said that the China Exhibitions Agency estimated 40,000 people had viewed the display in the three cities since last November. The exhibition comprised 47 photographs provided by the National Publicity Studios and individual photographers. It included photographs of the Secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, Zhao Ziyang (holding a kiwi in Auckland in 1983) and the Prime Minister, Mr Lange (during his visit to Guizhou in 1986). Mr Lange was the first head of Government to visit Guizhou Province.
“Guizhou hopes to send a return exhibition to New Zealand,” Mr Watt said.
