Misty Topaz wins again

PA Gisborne Misty Topaz a highweight winner on the first day of the Poverty Bay Turf Club’s meeting had no problems with top weight to victory in the first leg of the double on the second day of the meeting. Misty Topaz, from the Allan Jones stable at Cambridge, led from the 1200 m and Don' Margison kept it up to its work for a four-length win. The hot favourite, Mi Tristena, just held second place by . a neck from Majoright. The favourite, Dalby, came from well back in the field to win the second leg for Hastings trainer, Rose Durrant, and rider Matthew Woods. Incredible, which was ridden by leading jockey, Lance O’Sullivan, looked likely after taking over in the straight but Dalby came strongly on the outside to win by half a length.
