Fish and chips without grease

Cleanliness and fish and chips without that greasy after-taste are two of the revolutionary services offered at the recently opened Captain Scotty’s fish and chip shop, at the car-park end of Carnaby Mall, New Brighton. A visit to the sparklingly clean premises is a pleasant surprise in itself, for this is the first fish and chip shop I have ever been to that does not smell like one. Customers can purchase their orders ($1.70 for fish and chips) to take away or eat on the premises, with a knife and fork off a plate.
Captain Scotty’s is run by Mr Wallace McNeill, the former owner of the Balmoral Restaurant, who has studied new methods of merchandising fish and chips overseas. As a result, all food is fried in fresh vegetable oil, a wider variety of fish and other food is available, and the premises are spotlessly clean. Pink salmon fillets are available for $1.60, hoki fillets for $1.30, chips are $1.20 a bucket,
