The present exhibition at The Gallery in Akaroa is of paintings by a Christchurch artist, Alison Ryde. Last year she was the IBM winner and runnerup for the Lindauer Art Award. She paints watercolours on handmade paper in a
joyful response to her surroundings. Her subjects include gardens, interiors, cityscapes and landscapes. She has exhibited widely, including in Paris in 1979. Her last exhibition was at the Wellington Brooker Gallery’s Christmas Show for 1987. Her Akaroa exhibition will run until February 7.
