Bike, train collide
PA Timaru A man had a lucky escape when his motorcycle collided with a goods train at the Barkers Crossing just north of Winchester, early yesterday, the police said. Philip Steven Ryan,
aged in her early twenties, of St Andrews, apparently struck the side of the moving train, the Temuka police said. The accident occurred at 1.35 a.m.
Mr Ryan was last evening in a satisfactory condition in Timaru Hospital.
